Baraha - Quick start using Baraha

Baraha editor

Editing in Baraha

Run Baraha (baraha.exe) editor. This will open the Baraha editor as shown above.

Make sure that the default Indian language of your choice is correct. Double click on the Output Window and select the Language in the Default Settings. The following languages are available:

KANNADA - Kannada phonetic keyboard
SANSKRIT - Sanskrit phonetic keyboard
HINDI - Hindi phonetic keyboard
MARATHI - Marathi phonetic keyboard
TAMIL - Tamil phonetic keyboard
TELUGU - Telugu phonetic keyboard
MALAYALAM - Malayalam phonetic keyboard
GUJARATI - Gujarati phonetic keyboard
GURUMUKHI - Gurumukhi phonetic keyboard
BENGALI - Bengali phonetic keyboard
ASSAMESE - Assamese phonetic keyboard
ORIYA - Oriya phonetic keyboard

Type the following text in the Input Window.

merA bhArat mahAn

During editing the Preview Window shows the current line being edited and highlights the current word.

When the editing is complete, click the icon (CTRL+T hotkey) on the standard toolbar to convert the text to Indian script. The converted text appears in the Output Window.

Formatting text using Switches

Try the following examples which show Selective Text Formatting using Switches. Type them in the Input Window and click icon to convert.

Example 1:

<lang=kan> jai karnATaka mAte !<lang=eng>India is great ! <lang=hin>merA bhArat mahAn !

Example 2:

Example 3:
