Converting old .BRH files to new format
The transliteration scheme used in the latest Baraha is slightly different from the Baraha 2.0/2000/2000a/4.0 scheme. You can convert the old .BRH (or KAN) files to the new format by following methods given below. Choose any one of the following methods depending on the language and Baraha software versions.
Note: When you copy from Baraha 2.0/2000/2000a/4.0, the English text (if any) in the document will be lost. To prevent this, export the HTML file from Baraha 2000/2000a/4.0, open the HTML file in Browser and copy the text.
Kannada - from Baraha 2.0/2000/2000a to Baraha 7.0
- Run Baraha 2.0 / Baraha 2000 / Baraha 2000a
- Run Baraha 7.0
- Run FontConvert.exe program.
In Baraha 2.0/2000/2000a ...
- Open the .BRH file to be converted.
- Right click on the Output Window and select "Copy" command to copy the Kannada text.
In FontConvert ...
- Select "Baraha Kan New <==> BRH Kannada" Conversion Type.
- Click the "Paste" button of the top text box to paste the text.
- Click the "Down Arrow" button.
- Click the "Copy" button of the bottom text box to copy the text.
In Baraha 7.0 ...
- Click "File | New" command to create a new file.
- Right click on the Input Window and select "Paste Special | Automatic Conversion" command
- Save the document into a new .BRH file.
Kannada - from Baraha 4.0 to Baraha 7.0
- Run Baraha 4.0
- Run Baraha 7.0
In Baraha 4.0 ...
- Open the .BRH file to be converted.
- Right click on the Output Window and select "Copy" command to copy the Kannada text.
In Baraha 7.0 ...
- Click "File | New" command to create a new file.
- Right click on the Input Window and select "Paste Special | Automatic Conversion" command
- Save the document into a new .BRH file.
Devanagari - from Baraha 2000/2000a/4.0 to Baraha 7.0
- Run Baraha 2000 / Baraha 2000a / Baraha 4.0
- Run Baraha 7.0
- Run FontConvert.exe program.

- Select "Baraha Devanagari <==> BRH Devanagari" Conversion Type.
- Click the "Paste" button of the top text box to paste the text.
- Click the "Down Arrow" button.
- Click the "Copy" button of the bottom text box to copy the text.
In Baraha 7.0 ...
- Click "File | New" command to create a new file.
- Right click on the Input Window and select "Paste Special | Automatic Conversion" command
- Save the document into a new .BRH file.
Devanagari - from Baraha 5.0 to Baraha 7.0
